Double extract flavourings? Are they the equivalent strength to powders? The ratio is 10:1 on powders, but not the extracts. How does that work?Updated 2 months ago

Powders and mushroom extracts are made using different processes, so their strength and composition aren’t directly comparable.

Powders are made using a 10:1 ratio, meaning 10kg of mushroom material is used to produce 1kg of powder through a spray-drying method.

Mushroom extracts are made using a 1:2 ratio, where 1kg of mushroom material is used to create 2L of extract. These are produced using a double extraction method (both water and alcohol-based), which ensures that both water-soluble and alcohol-soluble compounds are present and bioavailable.

Mushroom extracts offer a full spectrum of beneficial compounds that may work synergistically, while powders tend to concentrate specific isolated compounds.
